The “Countryside Summer School”, a pilot project of “Freedom for Education, Culture and Sport” Association, in which we focused on the presentation of a dif-ferent type of school, without grades or stress. Only creative, unique and fun ac-tivities that also have an extremely serious purpose: to gather solid knowledge in the literature, theatre and science domain. All through games!
70 kids from the Blagesti area, Bacau county, were direct beneficiaries of this project. Ten teachers learned alternative teaching methods, and Romanian volun-teers from Egypt, England and Italy shared their experiences from other educa-tion systems. Actors from the “Bacovia” Municipal Theater Bacau came to pre-sent for the children involved in the project the staging of the story “Fata babei si fata mosului”by Ion Creanga. A team from the “Ion Borcea” Museum of Natural Sciences, Bacău, guided the children and the teachers in a unprecedented activity of astronomical observation.
